Iber Arms

OEM & Private Label Shotgun Manufacturing

Private label shotguns are shotguns built by a manufacturer and sold under another company’s brand. At Iber Arms we build OEM and private label shotguns in Beyşehir, Türkiye, for licensed importers, distributors, retail chains, brand owners and government buyers. You choose the platform, configuration, finish, markings and packaging, and we build, test-fire and export them.

What is the difference between OEM, private label and white label shotguns?

The three terms overlap, and the difference is how much of the gun the buyer specifies. A white label shotgun is an existing factory model sold under your brand with little or no change. A private label shotgun starts from an existing platform that you configure (finish, stock, barrel, capacity, markings and packaging) and sell as your own model line. OEM (original equipment manufacturer) work goes furthest, with the factory building to your specification, which can include changes that need engineering review.

As an OEM shotgun manufacturer in Turkey, we find that most brand programs sit in the middle. Building on a platform that is already in production, already test-fired at volume and already documented for export is faster and lower-risk than designing a new action. It also lets you spend your effort on the things your customers actually see and handle.

Who uses private label shotgun manufacturing?

Working with a custom shotgun manufacturer suits any licensed business that wants its own shotgun line without owning a factory. Our OEM customers usually fall into the five groups below.

Importers and distributors

Add a house brand next to the brands you already carry, with configurations chosen for the rules and price points of your market. You control the model names, the margins and the after-sales story.

Retail chains and sporting-goods groups

Offer an exclusive line that shoppers cannot price-compare model for model, with consistent finishes and packaging across every store and configurations matched to what your customers hunt and shoot.

Brand owners

Outdoor, accessory and apparel brands, as well as new firearm brands, can launch a shotgun range on proven platforms instead of funding a new design from zero.

Government and law-enforcement buyers

Agencies and their authorized suppliers can specify finish, capacity, barrel length and markings to meet a tender, including platforms intended only for military and police use.

Licensed dealers and specialist shops

Smaller buyers can start with a limited configuration or a sample before committing to a larger run, because we accept orders of any quantity.

Every customer must be a licensed business or an authorized government entity in its own country. Iber Arms does not sell to private individuals; a consumer who likes one of our models should buy it through a licensed dealer or importer.

What can you customize on a private label shotgun?

You can customize what your customers see and handle (finish, stock, barrel, capacity, chokes, markings and packaging) within the limits of each platform. The table summarizes the main options. Choices vary by model, so confirm the available options for your platform with our export team before you finalize a specification.

OptionTypical choicesWhat to consider
Finish and colorBlack, gray, bronze, OD green, tan, blue, red, camouflage patterns and metallic tones such as nickel/silver or champagne, depending on the platformA distinctive color helps a brand stand out on the shelf. Approve the exact shade on a physical sample, not on a screen.
Stock and forendTurkish walnut or synthetic; on tactical platforms, fixed, pistol-grip or collapsible synthetic stocksWalnut suits field and premium lines; synthetic suits waterfowl, tactical, hard-use and price-driven lines.
Barrel lengthCommon choices include 47 cm (18.5″), 51 cm (20″), 61 cm (24″), 71 cm (28″) and 76 cm (30″); up to 81 cm (32″) on some field guns, and 26 cm (10.2″) on short-barrel platforms for authorized forcesBarrel length affects handling and use, and it can change the legal classification of a shotgun in some markets.
Magazine capacityFrom 2+1 to 10+1, depending on the platform; double-barrel pump models up to 16+2Choose capacities that are lawful in your market; compliance variants are covered below.
ChokesMobil-type interchangeable choke tubes; slug optionsDecide which tubes ship in the box and whether you want a slug-oriented configuration.
Sights and railsPicatinny or M-LOK rails and flip-up or ghost-ring-style sights on tactical platforms that have themMatch the accessory interface to what your customers already use.
Branding and markingsYour logo and model name on the receiver; position, size and marking method agreed at the sample stageLegally required markings stay on the gun, including serial number, gauge and chamber length, country of origin and any importer markings your market requires.
PackagingBranded box or case and printed materialsAgree the box contents (for example choke tubes, choke wrench and manual) and the carton marking your logistics need.

Options differ from platform to platform, and not every combination is possible on every model. Send us your target specification and we will confirm what can be built, or propose the closest configuration.

Compliance variants for specific markets

Many private label buyers need the same platform in more than one legal configuration. Because capacity and barrel length are configurable, market-specific variants are a routine part of private label work. Typical examples are listed below.

  • United Kingdom a Section 2 shotgun certificate covers shotguns whose magazine holds no more than two cartridges (2+1 in total) with barrels of at least 24 in, so 2+1 configurations with longer barrels are the mainstream choice.
  • Canada magazines for semi-automatic centerfire rifles and shotguns are limited to 5 shells, and the RCMP sets the classification of each model.
  • Australia lever-action shotguns with a capacity of 5 rounds or less are Category B and above 5 are Category D; pump-action and self-loading shotguns are Category C or D; single and double-barrel break-actions are Category A.
  • United States a barrel under 18 in or an overall length under 26 in makes a shotgun an NFA short-barreled shotgun, so civilian-market orders typically use 47 cm (18.5″) barrels or longer, and the configuration must also meet ATF’s “sporting purposes” importability criteria.

These notes are general information, not legal advice. Classification depends on the exact model and changes over time, so verify with the competent authority in your country (in Canada, check the RCMP Firearms Reference Table) before you order. Our guide to importing shotguns from Turkey covers the country rules in more detail.

How does the private label process work, step by step?

A private label shotgun order moves through eight stages from first inquiry to shipment. Production and paperwork run in parallel wherever possible, because export authorization and destination import permits can take as long as building the guns.

  1. Inquiry you tell us your company, market, platforms of interest and goals.
  2. Specification sheet and catalog we share the options per platform and draft a written specification together.
  3. Samples you evaluate sample guns of the chosen platform.
  4. Configuration and branding approval final configuration, colors, logo artwork, marking positions and packaging are signed off.
  5. Production barrels, receivers, small parts and stocks are produced and finished to the approved specification.
  6. Assembly and test-firing guns are assembled, function-checked, test-fired and inspected.
  7. Export documentation we prepare the commercial documents and obtain Turkish export authorization.
  8. Shipping the order is packed, marked and handed to the forwarder under the agreed delivery term.

What documents are needed for an OEM shotgun order?

Three sets of documents are involved. The first is the Turkish export side, which the exporter handles, the second is your end-user and import documents, and the third is the commercial shipping documents.

  • Turkish export authorization obtained by Iber Arms, as manufacturer and exporter, from the competent Turkish authorities. You do not apply for it, but the application depends on documents only you can supply.
  • End-user certificate (EUC) a document from you (and, for government orders, from the purchasing agency) identifying the consignee and the end user of the goods. The required format depends on the destination and the type of buyer, so we confirm what is needed before you prepare it.
  • Import license or permit your firearms business license and the import permit for this shipment, issued by your national authority. Requirements vary widely between countries; see our country-by-country guide to importing shotguns from Turkey.
  • Commercial documents proforma invoice, commercial invoice, packing list (usually with serial numbers), certificate of origin and the transport document.

Make sure model names, gauges, quantities and consignee details match across the proforma invoice, your import permit and the end-user certificate. Mismatches between these documents are one of the most common causes of delay in firearm shipments.

How is quality controlled on private label orders?

Your brand is on the receiver, so quality control has to protect your reputation as much as ours. Private label guns go through the same production process as our own models, with a check against your approved specification added at the end.

  • Barrels 4140 chromium-molybdenum steel, with hard-chrome lining applied on our in-house line.
  • Receivers aluminum alloy (7075-T6 on some models), prepared and painted in-house.
  • Stocks Turkish walnut or synthetic, prepared and finished at the factory.
  • Assembly and test-firing guns are assembled, function-checked and test-fired at our Beyşehir factory before packing.
  • Specification check finish, color, markings, capacity, barrel length and box contents are compared with the signed-off specification and reference sample.
  • Proof marks proof requirements depend on the destination market. Ask our export team which proof marks and certificates are available for yours.

How do you evaluate a private label shotgun manufacturer?

Judge a private label firearms manufacturer by what it actually makes, how it demonstrates quality and how well it handles export paperwork, not by catalog photos. Ask every supplier on your shortlist, including us, the same set of questions below.

  1. Is it a manufacturer or a trading company? Many exporters resell guns made elsewhere. A manufacturer can tell you which processes happen in its own factory and show them.
  2. Which processes are in-house? Bore lining, receiver finishing, stock work, assembly and test-firing all affect consistency. Ask for photos or video of each step.
  3. Will it send samples? Evaluate a sample of the exact platform before committing, and use it as the reference for the production run.
  4. Does it understand your market’s rules? A good partner asks about capacity limits, barrel lengths and classification before quoting, not after.
  5. How does it handle export documents? Ask what it needs from you, who obtains the export authorization and how many export shipments it has completed.
  6. How will spare parts be supplied? Agree in writing how magazines, choke tubes, springs and other wear parts will be available for the life of your model line.
  7. Who will you deal with? A named export contact who can answer technical questions saves time on every order.

Iber Arms has made shotguns since 2000, exported since 2010 and completed more than 2,800 export shipments from Beyşehir in Konya province, Turkey’s best-known shotgun-making cluster. Read more about Iber Arms or see our overview of Turkish shotgun manufacturers.

What determines the cost and lead time of a private label order?

Price and lead time depend on the platform, the configuration and the paperwork, so we quote each project individually instead of publishing a price list. The main drivers are listed below.

  • Platform a single-shot break-action and a gas-operated semi-auto involve very different amounts of machining and assembly.
  • Materials and finish walnut or synthetic, special colors or camouflage, and the number of different finishes in one order.
  • Branding and packaging marking method, custom boxes or cases and printed materials.
  • Order structure quantity per configuration, the number of variants and whether the order ships in one or several lots.
  • Documentation how long your authority takes to issue import permits and end-user documents, and the time needed for Turkish export authorization. On many first orders, paperwork, not production, sets the delivery date.
  • Delivery term and freight the Incoterm you choose (for example FCA, FOB or CIF) changes what the price includes.

The practical lesson is to start your import permit process early and send us your specification at the same time, so production and paperwork run in parallel.

How do you request a private label quote?

The more complete your first message, the faster we can return a specification and quotation. Please include the details below.

  • Company name, country and the type of firearms license or authorization you hold
  • Target market(s) and any capacity or barrel-length limits that apply there
  • Platforms or models of interest, from the catalogs or the table above
  • Preferred finishes, stock material, barrel lengths and capacities
  • Branding, such as logo files, model names and packaging ideas
  • Estimated quantities per configuration, and whether you need samples first

Private label shotgun FAQ

Iber Arms does not publish a fixed minimum order quantity, and we accept orders of any quantity. What makes sense depends on how much customization you want, since a standard configuration with your logo can be practical at a different volume than a special color or custom packaging. Send your estimated quantities per configuration and we will suggest the most sensible way to structure the order.

Yes. Samples are available for evaluation, and we recommend testing the exact platform before you commit. Remember that sample shotguns are firearms. They need export authorization on our side and an import permit on yours, just like a production order, so start the paperwork early. An approved sample can then serve as the reference standard for your production run.

Yes. Marking your logo and model name on the gun is a standard part of private label work. Position, size and marking method are agreed during configuration and branding approval, usually on a sample. Legally required markings, such as the serial number, gauge and chamber length, country of origin and any importer markings your market requires, remain on the gun alongside your branding.

All of our product families, namely lever action, AR-style magazine-fed, bullpup, gas semi-auto, inertia-driven semi-auto, M4-style and M2-style, pump action, over/under, single barrel, double-barrel pump, short-barrel, horizontal-magazine and lever-release shotguns, plus newer models. Gauges are 12 across the range, with 20 gauge and .410 bore on selected platforms. Short-barrel configurations are supplied only to authorized military and law-enforcement buyers.

Yes. Capacity and barrel length are configurable on most platforms, so we can build, for example, 2+1 versions for UK Section 2 certificates, 5-shell semi-auto versions for Canada, or 47 cm (18.5″) barrels for civilian US orders. Classification always depends on the exact model and current law, so confirm with your national authority before ordering. This is general information, not legal advice.

Lead time depends on the platform, the level of customization, the order size and, very often, the time needed for permits on both sides. We confirm a production schedule with each quotation instead of quoting a generic lead time. Applying for your import permit while we finalize the specification is the most effective way to shorten the overall timeline.

We export to importers, distributors and government buyers in Europe, the USA, the Middle East, Asia and South America, and have completed more than 2,800 export shipments since 2010. Whether we can ship to a specific country depends on Turkish export authorization and on your import permit. Tell us your destination and our export team will confirm.

Iber Arms, as manufacturer and exporter, obtains the Turkish export authorization and prepares the commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin. You are responsible for your firearms business license, the import permit in your country and the end-user certificate. We tell you early exactly which documents we need from you, so both sides can work in parallel.

Private label means an existing platform configured for you (finish, stock, barrel, capacity, chokes, markings, packaging) and sold under your brand. OEM goes further and builds to your own specification, which may include changes that need engineering review. White label sits at the other end, meaning an existing model rebranded with minimal change. Most brand programs are private label.

Most programs start from an existing platform, because it is already proven in production and documented for export. If you need changes beyond the standard options, send us the requirement and our technical team will review feasibility. We will tell you plainly what is possible on an existing platform and what would require new development.

Yes. We supply government and law-enforcement buyers and their authorized suppliers. For a tender, send the technical specification and the documentation requirements early, because government end-user certificates and import authorizations must be in place before export. Some configurations, such as short-barrel shotguns with 26 cm (10.2″) barrels, are intended only for authorized forces.

No. Iber Arms works only with licensed importers, distributors, dealers, brand owners and government buyers. If you are a private buyer interested in one of our models, please contact a licensed dealer or importer in your country, who can handle the purchase under local law.
